Many audit functions are rightly under pressure from both the Board and CEO to increase their efficiency to either allow costs to be reduced or greater assurance to be given with the same budget. However, functional leaders often struggle to achieve breakthrough efficiency gains as we get lost in a mix of process improvement initiatives which often fail to deliver the efficiency gains expected.
