Afa Försäkring TeamMate+ Implementation

Afa Försäkring, established in 1962, is a Swedish insurance company based in Stockholm. It provides financial support in cases of illness, injury, work incapacity, death, and parental leave, primarily for employees in the private sector, municipalities, and county councils.

Facing challenges with their internal audit and compliance functions, which relied heavily on Excel and SharePoint, Afa Försäkring sought to enhance the quality, efficiency, and alignment of their reporting processes. They also aimed to improve risk assessment and leverage insights from other departments, particularly the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) division. To address these needs, Afa Försäkring engaged BR1GHT to implement a system that would support both internal audit and compliance functions, leading to the selection of TeamMate+, a comprehensive audit management solution.

BR1GHT collaborated closely with Afa Försäkring’s internal audit and compliance teams. The project was authorized by senior management, reflecting the organization’s commitment to enhancing its audit and compliance capabilities.

BR1GHT implemented TeamMate+ to streamline and enhance Afa Försäkring’s audit and compliance processes. This involved configuring the system to support both functions, developing workflows that improved transparency, reporting, and the connection between risk assessments and subsequent audits and reviews. The implementation also enabled business users to participate in the follow-up and remediation process for observations and recommendations. Post-installation, Afa Försäkring gained a system they could navigate and update independently, supporting future organizational growth.
