During this session, Mark Williams, Agility in Internal Audit consultant, coach, trainer and keynote speaker, and Shawn O’Brien, TeamMate, provide a foundational look on the mechanics of agile auditing. This presentation includes a brief review of the elements of agile audit – what it is, what it is not, and the why – and closely examines what a typical week looks like in an audit project using these agile techniques. Additional topics to be discussed revolve around the core meetings and activities that make up the agile audit framework, their purpose, and recommendations of attendees vital to keeping your audit work moving forward.

After five years of experience helping auditors and audit leaders embrace more agile ways of working, Mark is widely regarded as the industry-leading expert on agility in internal audit and compliance. Most recently, he is the creator and authorized trainer of the only agile auditor course certified by ICAgile, the agile training accreditation body.

Mark is also the founder of Agile Outside IT, a small specialist consultancy that provides agility consultancy, coaching, bespoke training, and keynote talks to the internal audit profession.

Shawn O’Brien

Shawn is part of the Agile Audit development team at Wolters Kluwer TeamMate. In his role, he engages with internal audit professionals, agile audit practitioners, and agile audit thought leaders to better understand the why and how of agile auditing. Shawn has collaborated with Mark Williams, Agile Coach, to develop educational content to help audit teams bring agile techniques into their workflow.
