Wolters Kluwer TeamMate EMEA Forum 2023

Central European Time Thursday, 16 March 2023
09:00 – 10:00 Registration
10:00 – 10:15 Welcome and Introductory Remarks
10:15 – 10:45 The Role of Internal Audit in ESG

The renewed (draft) EU regulations on ESG are needed, but also extremely ambitious, moving from ‘the duty to report’ to ‘the duty to act’. The reporting standards are heavy, demanding detailed reporting on many aspects, and ultimately asking for reasonable assurance from the external auditor. What is the role of internal audit in this area, and how can we add value and have impact?

10:45 – 11:15  TeamMate+ Masterclass 1: Using TeamMate+ to Help You Develop a Risk Based Audit Plan

With so many new releases of TeamMate+ since our last EMEA user meeting the Product Masterclass presentations will help you to understand the powerful capabilities that have been added to TeamMate+ over recent years along with a practical example of how a client has leveraged the functionality in the department. In the first session, we will be focusing on Risk Assessment and using this to develop a risk-based audit plan.

BREAK
11:45 – 12:15 How to deliver an Agile Audit Using TM+. A Practical Example

Everyone in the internal audit community has heard about agile auditing. It’s been a topic on the agenda of almost every audit conference over recent years. Not many audit departments have managed to go beyond the theory and applied the framework to their audit engagements. In this session, we will help you to understand how to take the theory and apply it in practice and use TeamMate+ to support the new way of working.

12:15 – 12:45 TeamMate+ Masterclass 2: Documenting Work in TeamMate

Good documentation is a vital element of a successful external quality assurance review. As auditors are always busy, it is vital that your audit management system allows the team to document work quickly and efficiently while still clearly demonstrating the relevance of documentation to the agreed scope and effective supervision of the engagement. We have designed TeamMate+ from the ground up to support these principals and have invested heavily in new capabilities to enhance auditor experience designed to make it easier for your teams to work real-time in the tool.

Lunch
13:45 – 14:15 TeamMate+ Masterclass 3: Audit Analytics

Considering the use audit analytics on engagements has been required by the standards for many years and so there are many tools available on the market to support this kind of work. Most of those tools are very specialised and require specific skills to use effectively which means that for most organizations it has been a challenge to extend usage beyond specialists to the entire audit team. Recognizing this challenge TeamMate+ includes an integrated audit analytic tool designed specifically for auditors who are not analytics specialists. In this masterclass we will show you practical examples as to how you can use these capabilities to elevate the use of analytics across the department.

 14:15 – 14:45 2023 A Perfect Storm of High Impact Risks?

Our organizations are facing an unprecedented storm of high-impact risks. In this session, Jonathan Chapman looks at these risks through the lens of internal audit and provides practical ideas as to how you can help the business navigate the challenges.

14:45 – 15:15 Building the Future of TeamMate

Meet the TeamMate Product Management team and learn how they are working with clients like you to identify the challenges facing audit departments and the profession today and how they are using those insights to develop new, innovative technology solutions. Gain insights into new capabilities you can expect to benefit from in upcoming releases of TeamMate+ with a sneak peek of our 2023 roadmap.

 15:15 – 15:45 Break
 15:45 – 16:15 TeamMate+ Masterclass 4: Recommendation Follow Up

Following up on agreed recommendations is a vital part of audit workflow. It’s only by verifying that the recommendations have been implemented as agreed at the end of an audit that you can provide assurance to audit committee and other stakeholders that risks are well controlled. At the same time, following up on recommendations and ensuring that your client fulfills their commitments is a time-consuming process that takes valuable resources away from other assurance work. In this workshop, we will take you through the enhancements we have made to Issue Tracking in TeamMate+ and hear from a client about the benefits they have gained by bringing audit clients into TeamMate+ to collaborate on follow-up of recommendations.

16:15 – 17:00 CAE Round Table: Is Your Risk Based Auditing Truly Risk Based?

How can we ensure that the work we do remains relevant? By auditing the risks that matter to the business. Join our panel of CAEs to gain practical insights into risk-based auditing and a perspective of the macro-risk environment faced by their organizations.
